2016 is a milestone year, NICOLE will turn 20 this year!

We will carry out a special workshop and celebrate with the fall workshop of 2016. If you have any suggestions or ideas for any of the workshop content. Or have a special event in mind for leisure, please contact NICOLE secretariat.

 

 

Block the date for NICOLE Spring 2016 workshop!

Conference date: June 15-17, 2016

Location: Vienna

The initial title the workshop was suggested as “failure and flaws & innovation”, it was suggested that failure has a negative appearance and it could indicate the responsible person who failed which that was not the case we would like to to discussion. 

Presenters are called to present from remediation technology perspective, expectation of technologies, management, Re-development cases or legislation perspective – any topics which are related with managing a contaminated site. The aim is to share experiences and solutions when outcome of a project is not inline with expectation.

The call for abstract will be issued by the end of January with the confirmed title.

Horizon 2020  – Project Remediate ETN

The REMEDIATE ETN is made up of 10 beneficiaries from five EU member states – the UK, Ireland, Germany, Denmark and Italy, and 13 associate partner organisations.

All participants are committed to providing innovative research and training for more cost effective and sustainable remediation of contaminated land.

The network is a multidisciplinary collaboration between internationally renowned research teams from academia and industry, each with complementary expertise in a wide range of site investigation and risk assessment technologies. NICOLE is one of the involved associate parter for Remediate. The coordinator for the project explained to NICOLE that one thing they would really like, is to find more contaminated sites for our Fellows to get samples from.

EKOS/NICOLE Brasil update 2016

In 2016 the 10th edition of  the International Conference  on Remediation and Revitalization will be hosted. At this moment the exact location and date yet to be determined, more information will follow soon!

The human occupation of contaminated sites promotes the risk to the environment and public health. In order to contribute to the development of actions and solutions, the Institute EKOS BRAZIL conduct the 10th International Conference for Remediation and Redevelopment of Contaminated Sites, which enriches the reflection on the remediation of degraded urban areas by contamination, the current issue facing urban environmental management.
 
To ensure the representation of the various sectors, the Ekos Brazil Institute would be honored to have NICOLE Europe as Institutional Supporter of the 10th edition of the International Conference on Remediation and Revitalization Areas contaminated.
 
The event is biannual and is the most relevant seminar in Latin America about remediation. Bringing national and international experts from several countries. In addition to panels and speakers, the seminar promotes a tradeshow; and a Poster Session for the development and exchange of knowledge.
 
The main themes covered this edition will be: Investigation Technologies, Remediation of Contaminated Sites, Sustainable Remediation, Legal Aspects, Groundwater management.
