Every few years, NICOLE and Common Forum organise a joint workshop to facilitate the discussion and cooperation between regulators and companies.

This time the workshop is jointly organised with Common Forum and its global counterpart ICCL (International Committee on Contaminated Land) and will be held in Copenhagen, Denmark on October 5-6, 2017. The title for this joint workshop is:
«Groundwater Management on Contaminated Sites».

Groundwater is a critical natural resource that provides drinking water and industrial process water supplies throughout the industrialized world. It is also a primary vehicle for spreading chemical pollution in the subsurface both locally and regionally.

This conference will bring together regulators, industry, and research professionals representing countries all over the world to share the most recent knowledge and best practices in regulation, management, investigation, and remediation of contaminated sites.

REMEDIATE (a network project consisting of several European institutes, coordinated by the Project Management Team from QUESTOR at Queen’s University Belfast) will hold a Summer School in Copenhagen in June this year.

One of the sessions they are organising is about Paper Writing, and they are looking for a local academic journal editor to help out with content for the session.
Next to that, they are looking for a local land specialist to attend a networking event on the final night of the summer school for a 5-minute presentation about their company and career opportunities.

If there are any NICOLE members in the Copenhagen region that are interested in helping out, please contact project leader Nick Johnston.
